5 Ways to Encourage Children to Do Community Service

Good citizenship is a value which children will carry with them into adulthood. Most schools do not integrate the Six Pillars of Character—trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship—into their curriculum as we do at Liberty Traditional Charter School. These values are crucial to the development of happy and responsible children who will become quality citizens as adults.

A Feast for Thanksgiving

Parents and guardians are invited to join their students in the school cafeteria on Wednesday, November 23, for our annual Thanksgiving Feast.

Stories Around the Campfire

On November 18, Liberty students and their families are invited to get into their favorite cowboy gear and gather ’round the campfire for storytelling, a puppet show, some cowboy chow, and more.

Frankenstein Friday

There are too few occasions in which parents can have fun with their children while teaching them valuable life lessons. October 28 will be one of those opportunities.

New, Exciting Places to Play

Liberty Traditional is creating a spacious new play space for students which will include a recreational structure with decks, slides, and ladders. Plus, students are now enjoying our recently completed basketball courts.

Dik-Shuh-Ner-Ee

Dictionary (noun): a reference book that contains words listed in alphabetical order and that gives information about the words’ meanings, forms, pronunciations, etc.

Free Fingerprinting For Parent Volunteers

On Thursday, October 13, Liberty Traditional will offer free fingerprinting on a first come, first served basis during parent-teacher conferences from 12:30-2 p.m. A picture ID is required. Parents are urged to volunteer and take part in this free service.

Hispanic Heritage Night

Hispanic Heritage Month is September 15 to October 15, and Liberty is celebrating with a family potluck on Friday, October 7, from 5-7 p.m. Join us for an evening of family fun with a special performance by our 5th and 6th graders. Contact Montse, at msaldana@ltsphoenix.org, to sign up, or call the main office. Science can be both a favorite and feared class. The hands-on nature of experimentation and wonder created through discovery of the world can mesmerize and fascinate students. By the same token, the specialized vocabulary and associated concepts can trip students up and alienate the curiosity the course and subjects covered can inspire.

Family Zumba Night

Join us for a night of active family fun on Thursday, September 29 at 4:30 p.m. in the Liberty gym. This hi-energy cardio workout will be led by professional Zumba instructor, Alejandro Rico, and is only $3 per family. Get ready to feel your blood pumping!
