Back-to-school time can be both exciting and stressful, but we’re hoping all our students had a great summer! Teachers, parents, and students alike are busy preparing for a new year filled with learning and growing experiences. To help start the year off right, we will be hosting a Meet the Teacher Open House on Tuesday, August 4th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. so that parents and students can get reacquainted with the campus, find their classrooms, and meet their teachers for the 2015-2016 school year.

Since the new academic year starts on Thursday, August 6th, we thought this was a good time and place for a few parent and student reminders.

First, don’t forget Liberty Traditional School Saddleback does require students to adhere to our uniformed dress code. Solid-color polo shirts in the school colors—red, white, or navy blue—can be worn, as can Liberty School shirts. Slacks, shorts, jumpers, capri pants, and skirts in khaki or navy blue may be worn. Please note that no skinny pants or shorts, or other form fitting clothing may be worn. Uniforms should not be either excessively baggy or too tight. Remember, the dress code applies to all students at all times during the school day, including after- school events, except when waived by an administrator for a specific activity.

Students, keeping with tradition, Waffles with the Principal will begin in August, as well. On Friday the 21st, from 8-8:30 a.m., Mr. Mealy will be joining students for a delicious, healthy breakfast. What a great way to start a day!

Parent shouldn’t feel left out. Your involvement is key to your child’s academic success. Get to know your child’s teacher and keep informed on how your student is doing. You can also encourage your kids to talk about their day and what they are doing in class. Additionally, Liberty Traditional always welcomes parent volunteers in the classrooms, on field trips, and elsewhere, so please stop by the office and fill out the applications for the required fingerprinting and background checks. Once your request has been processed, you can contact the school office at (520) 364-6311 for various volunteer opportunities.

We at Liberty Traditional believe “all children can learn” and our entire school community is dedicated to creating a safe, positive environment conducive to learning.
